The HIL Testing Engineer will play a pivotal role in the testing and validation of complex hardware systems using the Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing methodology. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability, performance, and safety of various hardware systems and components across different industries.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with system design and software development teams to understand system requirements and develop a HIL test plan
Design and develop HIL test cases, test scripts, and simulation models to validate hardware components and systems.
Integrate real-time simulations, models, and hardware interfaces to create comprehensive HIL testing environments.
Execute HIL tests to validate hardware components and systems against defined requirements.
Analyze and interpret test results, identifying deviations from expected behavior and reporting defects.
Troubleshoot and debug issues related to hardware interfaces, simulation models, and test setups.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Proven experience in HIL testing, including test case design, simulation model integration, and test execution.
Proficiency in using HIL testing tools and platforms (e.g., dSPACE, National Instruments, Vector) and simulation software (MATLAB/Simulink).
Strong programming skills in languages such as C/C++, Python, or similar scripting languages.
Familiarity with hardware interfaces, communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet), and real-time operating systems.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
